Wallpaper Crush

I have a love / hate relationship with wallpaper.  If you’ve ever had to remove layer upon layer of wallpaper, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

I remember when Nate and I bought our first home in Minneapolis.  The house was built in 1896 (total gem full of stunning character), but MAN were there a TON of walls that needed be to stripped to remove all the yucky stained wallpaper.  The folks that lived there before us just wallpapered over the old paper when they got sick of it.  In some rooms we stripped 4-5 layers of wallpaper to get down to the bare wall.

I LOVE pattern, color and texture so much.  That’s why I’m so thrilled now that you can find removable (peal and stick wallpaper) now.  Glory Alleluia!

The header image above is a beautiful watercolor paper that you can find on Etsy. Or you can find it at Murals Wallpaper.  Here are some of my absolute favorite prints and links on where to order them!  Sorry not all my favorites are peal and stick.

Do you think it’s worth it to wallpaper, or would you rather just admire it in a magazine?

If I had a bigger house and a little powder room you better believe I’d wallpaper that up. I really like the decals I have in my son’s room, they’re just multi-sized silver stars and there are enough of them scattered all over the wall that I think it ends up being similar to a wall paper, if not as exact or nuanced. Pattern on walls, thumbs up!

There was SOOOOO much wallpaper in that old house! If we ever chose to do wallpaper again it would have to be the stuff that just peels off when you’re ready for a change.
