If you’re on social media, then I’m sure that by now you’ve heard about LipSense. If you haven’t tried it yet and you’re wondering if it’s legit… it totally is! It’s a great product! If you’re wondering how to get it, keep reading…
If you are joining me for the first time, I LOVE makeup and have a long professional past (18 years) doing hair, makeup, styling and photography. On the blog I have done a couple before and after’s of Laura Roth and Elane Teasdale (click on their names to visit the post) to show you how much I love this stuff! It’s like playing with barbies but SO much better! Instead, I’m working with real, beautiful women!
So here we go! Watch my video to see me demo how LipSense really stays on without smearing and what I have to say about it… (BTW Have you ever heard a recording of your own voice or watched yourself on video and TOTALLY hated it?! Yuck, right?)
WHAT IS LIPSENSE?
LipSense is gluten-free, vegan, kosher, non-GMO, contains no lead and no animal by-products. So, if you love all natural products or are sensitive to makeup, then you’ll love this! The main selling point that distinguishes it from other lipsticks is that it’s highly durable – lasting up to 16-18 hours and staying on through eating, drinking, kissing, exercising, etc.
DOES IT REALLY STAY ON WHEN YOU EAT, DRINK, KISS, & EXERCISE?
Yes! That is true. I have tested all of it. I have also tested it with different foods. I will say however, when you eat super greasy foods the finish (which comes in gloss or matte) weakens, your lips need to be blotted right away to remove the grease, and the finish needs to be reapplied so the LipSense color doesn’t peal. So, if you don’t blot away the grease and reapply the finish then your color will only last about 8-9 hours rather then the full 16-18 hours. Any other foods have been fine. Also, if you really want the color to last the full 16 -18 hours you need to reapply the gloss or matte finish to keep your lips smooth (not dry). I have a habit of always rubbing my lips together so I found that if I reapplied the gloss 3 times over the course of a day (only one or two swipes across) I was good! That’s been my experience.
IS IT OKAY FOR YOUR LIPS?
Yes! The gloss contains shea butter which is awesome for your lips! Helpful tip: If your lips are chapped, prep them with coconut oil before using LipSense.
IS LIPSENSE WORTH THE PRICE?
The standard prices are $25 for one color, plus you need a tube of $20 finish, and consultants will also try and sell a tube of $10 lipstick remover.
If you’re like me and you already spend a little more for quality makeup because you care about the ingredients and how it helps your skin rather than clog and damage it, then this is a great value. Yes, I think this product is worth it! This product is high quality, it moisturizes your skin, it has true, strong colors and an awesome variety to choose from. Yes, there are other products out there that are cheaper, but they don’t last as long, they don’t carry the quality or vibrancy of colors or they are smaller (so they end up being the same cost in the end). Like anything, you get what you pay for.
So, there it is my honest review of LipSense!
