I know, right?! Window boxes are amazing and magical. I’m normally a very decisive person! It’s true. But there are two things in the whole world that make me very indecisive… desserts and flowers. I pretty much love all desserts and sweets, but this post isn’t about sweets. Today’s post is about flowers! I love flowers and plants so much and I am always looking for ways to add more to my house and yard each summer. So I need your help! I’m trying to convince my hubby (Nate) to put up window boxes on the front of our house. If I get a ton of comments and support, maybe that will help him say yes to the idea… 😉 so keep reading…
It is my personal goal to turn my yard into the secret garden! No, I don’t live in a country side manor with stones walls and acreage. I don’t have endless means to hire landscapers. I have a relatively small corner lot. But that doesn’t mean I can’t find the gold in my own back yard and work with what I have, right? I do a little bit each year and slowly keep building. I don’t buy this stuff all at once. Also, a big part of this blog is to encourage you to think outside the box and be bold and creative with your decorating choices.
So, my hubby doesn’t like the idea of putting holes into the outside of our house to put up the window boxes. Something about snow and ice getting into the house in the winter and wasps making their home in our walls in the summer… but I think he’s overreacting a bit, don’t you? People all over the world across various climates have window boxes, so no big deal right?
Check out these stunning ideas! I hope these image inspire just as they inspired me. Which one is your favorite?

I also love well designed window boxes! One of my very favorite plants ever is the pussy willow. I have three bushes out front and two very larger pussy willow arrangements in my house. I’m kind of obsessed with them. I really like fluffy, soft things. Since I already have so much of it, maybe I need some more variety… thoughts? Image via Magnolia

So hard to choose. I love the bold pop of color. Image via Shades Shutters Blinds Blog

Inspiration #15
Again, I love texture and the mix of plants in this grouping. It makes me want to grow a veggie garden in the window boxes. It would be functional and beautiful. Image via Magnolia

Inspiration #16
These next two are similar but, they a so sweet and so feminine I couldn’t leave one out so I’m grouping them together in inspiration 16. They make me smile.

So what do ya say? Will you help me convince Nate that we should install some window boxes? Maybe I’ll even make my own boxes… who knows. I can’t wait to hear from you!

June 2, 2017 at 6:28 amWhat if they were free standing? I love window boxes too but the only place I could have one is off my dinning room window and it stuccoed? So I’ve dreamed about a free standing one.
