I love making people feel beautiful, both inside and out. I love sharing my talents with others. It’s a beautiful bonding experience. For me it’s more than just dressing someone up and snapping some pics or redesigning a space for someone. It’s creating a masterpiece with someone and for someone. It’s an opportunity to spend time with a person, get to know them, look at them, study them up close and really see all their gorgeous qualities.
So, I have this beautiful friend Wendy, who happens to be from New Zealand (I really LOVE her accent!). She, like all moms is super busy and on the go. She has 5 adorable kids. Her hubby is a Firefighter and also works long hours, so we thought it would be fun to do a photo shoot in her back yard of her family as a surprise for her hubby on Father’s Day. Let me be the first to tell you… I LOVE her kids! She said to be prepared for crazy, but they were totally the exact opposite; so sweet and well behaved and just darling. I don’t know what she was talking about… 🙂
She even let me do a before and after of her, which was fun girl time.
I love how a couple of her kids hung tight while I was putting on her makeup. They watched and observed my every move as I applied make-up on their mom.
Her children are so cute! When I said, “Say cheese!” they all created this beautiful harmonious sound! It sounded like the Von Trapp children. And that’s not even the best part. They held it and kept singing, “CHEESE!” in the sweetest way. I’m not kidding. You can’t make this stuff up. It was darling. I wanted to eat them up, they were so sweet! I wish I could have recorded it as I was taking their portraits.
I can still hear their sweet harmony.
What a beautiful, happy family!
That’s why I love art and creating so much. Art is important because it brings meaning and purpose to humanity. Our traditions, beliefs, values and lifestyle… all shine forth through what we produce as art, whether we know it or not. Design, architecture, music, dance, painting, photography, comedy, theater….all quintessentially reveal the culture of people. It connects people and make’s us feel. That being said this is one of the ways I really enjoy serving my family and friends.
What does art mean to you? Why do you think art is important?
