DIY Gold Leaf Garland

Looking for a fun, whimsical way to deck the halls for Christmas and New Year’s Eve? Here is a last minute super fast DIY that cost under $5.00 and look fabulous! Oh! In case you didn’t know, my hand is still in a cast and I was able to pull this off in under 3 hours with one hand and an extra thumb. It’s so easy anyone can do this!

A few things to address first…

Thank you, thank you for all of those who made a purchase at my SHOP! As I mentioned before, when you purchase a Sweet Reminder a portion of the proceeds will go toward a charity. Because of your support this month My Daily She is able to donate to Lutheran Social Services of MN Foster Care. Here the proceeds go toward emergency placements- diapers, clothing, food, etc. or for extra activities for kids like sports etc. or for support groups or training. I couldn’t have done this without you guys! Thank you!

I am taking next week off because I really need a break! It’s been a crazy busy couple of months for me. I’m ready to sleep in for a bit and let my hand rest up some more. So no posts next week.

DIY Gold Leaf Garland

This is perfect for all occasions! It’s beautiful home decor but also perfect for all occasions and gatherings. It just has that soft, holiday, whimsy, airy vibe that adds so more character to a room. AND, this garland is easy-peasy to make. I pinky swear it! I did it with a wounded hand, so you can do this, too!

  • gold (or any color) crepe paper  FYI- I didn’t have time to order some so I just used gold streamer paper from Target, available in their party section.
  • scissors
  • cut a basic leaf shape
  • sewing machine
  • thread

Hint: I only needed two bags to complete three windows!!

Fold crepe paper multiple times.

Cut out basic leave shape into the folded paper for multiple cut leaves.

Sew the leaves criss-crossed down the middle.

That’s it! Go until you reach a length you like. I made mine extra long so I could trim them to my desired length.

Have a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!

Thank you! I love that color too!!! I used a Martha Stewart color from Home Depot almost 6 years ago. It’s called Rainwater. I don’t think that chip exists anymore. I’m happy to make you a color sample so you can get it matched if you’re intersted. It’s a very tranquil color! One of my faves. It’s also the same color I used for my front door!
