I struggle a great deal with written and verbal communication due to my learning disability. It always feels like I’m reading and hearing a foreign language. But with music it’s a totally different story.
This is the very first Holiday season in 14 years where I’m not rushing to finish a catalog last minute! The Talisman Designs catalog is done, I’m working on research and new designs concepts for 2018. I feel like I have time to take a deep breath, exhale and focus on my family! So, when I have time, I love to create magical dreamscapes for my family to experience. During the Holiday season I love to bring the magical wintery wonderland inside.
My sister loves decor and beautiful table settings, but she hates crafts, complicated set up and buying expensive items she’s only going to use once or twice a year. So I wanted to create a simple, practical table setting that showed natural arrangements, texture, layers and beauty.
It’s crunch time, people! Thanksgiving is just a few days away. On the bright side, we’re one day closer to being allowed to celebrate Christmas unabashedly, without any of the Charlie Browns complaining that it’s too early! Woohoo! I’m especially looking forward to our family’s favorite holiday prep tradition–cutting down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving! Read More »
Today I wanted to show you a few fun gadgets I’ve invented for my day job as Designer and Art Director of Talisman Designs. They make pie baking SO much easier (because, contrary to popular belief, the phrase “easy as pie” is wildly inaccurate, at least for most double crust pies). Not to mention, these tools make perfect gifts!!!
Just as an FYI, I do not receive any kind of commission when I show you the things I have invented and designed. I just love what I’ve created and, better yet, they work and will come in handy for the baking season. “Where can I buy them,” you ask? Just click on the links below!
Oh! And THE Rachael Ray (yes, you read that right) will be featuring the Pastry Guide on her show this Thursday, November 17. Don’t miss it! Be sure to watch!!
We covered gifts for kids already, so we thought you might be ready to tackle gift buying for the men in your life.
We’ve got some great ideas for all types of men! Click the highlighted numbers below each section to check out the details.
I’m sure we all can share stories about someone in our family that has served in a war. My grandfather (Dad’s side) served in WWII in the South Pacific and China. My grandmother (Dad’s side) served as a nurse on the west coast. I will never have any idea what they truly experienced, but I owe all those who have served my deepest respect and gratitude.
I wanted to share with you Nate’s (my husband’s) grandfather’s story. Olen “Reb” Grant was a member of the 8th Air Force during World War II. He participated in the greatest air armada of all time. His mission was one of the air war’s deadliest. Of the 350,000 individuals involved in the air war over Europe, over 54,000 were either killed in combat or taken prisoner.
