Green Cleaning + Giveaway

I’m not going to lie. I’m pretty excited about this week’s giveaway! I myself always feel better when my house is clean. It’s a natural high for me when my family has tackled the kitchen and bathrooms. Not just picking up, I mean a good deep clean. It’s such a nice feeling.

When I was at the IHA show in Chicago back in March, I wandered over to the Clean & Contain Hall and discovered Capri Essentials.

You know what that means, I have no problem letting my two young boys ages 9 & 12 use these when it’s chore time. I just hand over the all purpose cleaner and let them clean the mirrors, countertops, sinks etc. without being worried about toxic fumes. Before, I was very devoted to Windex as my mirror and glass cleaner, and Kaboom as my heavy deep cleaner, but now, I love having one cleaner that takes care of all of it. Plus, they smell great! My boys (who could care less about smells… unless it’s something yummy) even notice the fresh scent. That’s saying something!

I also use their cleaner for my outdoor porch furniture, too!

Did you guys know that Lemon, Lavender and Basil are naturally antibacterial? They are!

 

– Lemons carry compounds called flavonoids that have antibiotic effects. They also have antibacterial and antiviral properties.

 

– Lavender oil is not only antibacterial, it’s anti-fungal, carminative (smooth muscle relaxing), sedative, and anti-depressive.

(I could not find lavender anywhere this week! So, I went with these lavender toned florals ?)

 

– Fresh basil and basil oil have strong antibacterial capabilities. Studies show, basil has can stop the growth of many bacteria, even some that had grown resistant to other antibiotics.

 

I’m not a big fan of clutter, so having one hardworking all purpose cleaner that’s still gentle on me and the surfaces I’m cleaning is awesome. Less to store! I’ve been using these products in my home and I love them!

 

I also like mixing them. Do you guys remember that post I did a while back on DIY Hand Soap Art, well try mixing these soaps, too. You’ll get a really fun blend of herbal and citrus fragrances. I’ll need to try that with the dish soap, too. Sorry, I can’t help myself. I love to experiment and mix and mess around with stuff, especially new smells.
