After a hearty breakfast at the Tralee Park B&B, we were off to drive and hike around the Dingle Peninsula.
We could not believe how green it was. The weather was perfect for hiking (about 55 degrees). We were along the coast so the wind made it feel like 45-50 degrees in some spots. It only sprinkled rain a couple times, but it sure was muddy. I’m so glad I brought my rain boots!

It was such a lovely drive. I have to apologize, I didn’t take as many photos as I should have along the Dingle Peninsula. I got so lost in the stunning views that I forgot to bring my camera out on a couple of our hikes. Below are a few pictures that I took when I remembered to carry my camera with me.

These rocks are misleading in size from this photo, so I took another shot with Nate in them so you could see the actual scale of these. They were HUGE!

If you are a big Star Wars fan, right along the Ceann Sibeal is a well known scenic headland on the Dingle Peninsula. It was the Star Wars Episode VIII location of the old Jedi temple where Luke begins Rey’s training in the ways of the force. Nate and I didn’t want to spend a day taking a boat to and from the island, so we just saw the location from a distance as we drove past.
Right after the Dingle Peninsula, we headed for the Cliffs of Moher. These views were just stunning! I mean WOW!

We walked all along these cliffs.

The cliffs are ENORMOUS! They were 702 feet! What made it even more dramatic was the extremely muddy paths along the edges of the cliffs. You had the option of walking on the inside path (that was safer, away from the edge) or you could walk on the edge with no fence to stop you if you slipped. Both were extremely muddy. We saw a couple people wipe out and get covered in mud. And yes, Nate had to walk the path right along the edge. I went along the edge for this one photo and then hopped back to the safer path. It didn’t help that the wind picked up when I was next to the edge. I did this shot for you guys so I expect lots of comments! 😉

So slippery!

After the sunset, we got back to the car and made our way up to Northern Ireland.
XOXO,
Melessa
