Connecting Creative Women: Inspirational Conference for a Cause

I believe everyone deserves a chance…  A chance to learn, to grow, to find a voice… When we take action to pursue our dreams and passions and then share that journey of discovery with others, we demonstrate that it can be done! That challenges can be overcome! That goals can be achieved and that dreams can be realized!

I am so excited to share with you a project I’ve been working on with my good friend Mary Wilde.  We’ve been planning this for almost a month now.  She and I are co-sponsoring an inspirational women’s conference in downtown Minneapolis.  Come join us and other women in the community to discuss how creativity can make a difference in our community.  We all have a story tell, and this event is to do just that: to uplift, inspire and motive each other to make difference by sharing our experiences with one another.

On countless occasions I’ve heard my mother say,”Actions speak louder than words.”  She fought like crazy for me to have access to the education that I needed to make the most of my situation, despite my disability.  It was her who made sure I received the help and support I needed to learn, develop strong coping skills and grow despite my learning challenges.  Her example and the sacrifices she made taught me that everyone deserves a chance to realize their potential.  I know life can be hard and unfair but if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that fighting to build up those around you is worth it!  Giving them a chance to grow and succeed is worth the sacrifice.  Just because I have difficulty memorizing and learning, doesn’t mean I can’t go on and do great things.  So, what about the beautiful people who come to this country searching for a new start?  Don’t they deserve the same love, hope and opportunity that my mother struggled to provide for me?
