Now, let’s talk about the color blue!
Fun Fact: Because blue is such a stable color, women love seeing men in this color. Who doesn’t love having a stable partner? Blue is also very calming.
For most people, blue is commonly picked as their favorite color. It’s a non-threatening color that is very safe, conservative and traditional. It is a calm, serene color that makes people feel peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. It’s a sign of stability and reliability (just like the sky – you can always count on it being there everyday). People have been found to be way more productive in blue rooms.
On the other hand, blue is a cool hue. Too much of it will feel cold and make people feel unwelcome, sad and even aloof. So make sure you balance the room with warm undertones. To make it more relaxing in social areas, such as family rooms, living rooms or large kitchens, think about warmer blues, such as periwinkle, or bright blues, such as cerulean or turquoise. You can still use dark shades of blue, but be sure to balance it out with something lighter for contrast so it’s not so doom and gloom. Dark blue accent walls can be a ton of fun as well and add a lot of rich contrast.
