Do you ever think, what are some things I can do to feel a little happier? One way to invite more happiness into your life is making the choice to not take offense, no matter what comes your way.
It’s so easy to be offended. We all have our hot button issues.
Normally, I don’t just link to other posts, but this particular blogger really hit the nail on the head and I feel that I couldn’t say it any better. It’s a great read with some great tips on how to adjust your mindset when someone pushes your buttons… and you might even make the world a little better in the process.
Some excerpts that really hit home for me:
“All anger, all acting out, all harshness, all criticism, is in truth a form of suffering. When we provide no Velcro for it to stick, something changes in the world.”
“All of that said, almost nothing is personal.”
I know what it’s like to be hurt and offended, and this post helped me reevaluate how I see people. We all hurt and struggle from time to time, and we’re all living this crazy life together. Instead of taking offense, a little kindness and understanding can go a long way.
