I’m in the middle of catalog season and working late. Plus, all my equipment, camera, lights, etc., is at work. So, it’s pretty nuts. Originally I was thinking that I’d pass on decorating the inside of our house for Halloween this year, but then, I missed all the festive decor. So, in literally an hour I ran down stairs dug up some webs and pulled out the halloween bin. I mean I already had the stuff, so it’s kinda just wrong to just leave it down there and wait a whole other year to use it.
When in doubt, if you don’t have a lot of time to decorate and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can’t go wrong with webs and spiders from the dollar store. I already these items, but that’s where I got them.
When putting up webs, spread it out to its full length. Try pulling smaller sections apart and slowly stretching out the fibers. Find a corner and pull gently to loosen up the clump and spread over the surface you want to cover. Hook ends in different sections to make it look wider and fuller. Avoid pulling fast, when you do that they don’t look spread apart.

If you have a difficult area where there is nothing to catch the webs on, use some removable tack putty or tape. Stretch the webs out first and then tack it to a small ball of putty or tape. This works well on the side of a door frame or on the back of furniture.

Add fake spiders to give it a spooky realistic look. I like to add various sizes to give it more dimension.

I also had a bunch of google-y eyes, so of course I had to tape them to my family photos! I love how they turned out.

So that’s what I did! I hung webs all over, threw up some google-y eyes and called it a day. I think it worked. The boys love it and I’m happy, too.
As I said above, all my camera equipment is at work, so I just snapped a few shots with my iPhone.
Have a happy and very safe Halloween everyone!
XOXO
