Okay, let’s talk about pushing our homes to the next level a bit more. I’ve done posts like this before, but the real question is: are you willing to try them?? Let’s get excited about experimenting and trying new things!! Here are 5 ideas that can step up your home with more spunk and personality.
Now, if you’re someone who likes things all neutral with very little color, these design ideas can still work for you, too! I’m going to give you more neutral and some color examples this time. So, let’s get started and thinking more outside the box!
Try A Bench For Your Dining Table
There are so many benefits to have a bench at the table. They are super easy to wipe down, easy to sweep around, more seating, they take up less space and you can make them blend in or pop.
Be More Bold With Lighting
Think of lighting like a great pair of statement earrings that completes the outfit. A big, bold pendant or chandelier adds drama to a subdued space, especially when it’s centered in the room. It’s a nice surprise that draws the eye upward and adds “Wow!” to the room.
Statement Ceiling
Since we are still looking up, let’s not neglect those ceilings. There are a couple ways of doing this. You can go pattern, texture or solid color. Any option will make the space appear bigger. Pick a fun pattern or paint color and incorporate the colors elsewhere with accessories below. It’s so pretty and it’s sure to attract compliments.
Hanging Your Throw Blanket
Buying large artwork isn’t always easy. If you have a wall that feels a little on the bare side you might want to consider hanging your nice throws instead. It creates an inviting, cozy feel to your space that you’ll just want to snuggle up in.

Have Fun With Your Bar Stools
Barstools with personality in the legs, shape or in a pretty accent color are an unexpected way to perk up a neutral kitchen. To keep things cohesive, sprinkle similar shades around the room with dishware, art or other cute accents.
Don’t be scared to go for it! You can do it!!
Which one are you willing to try first? Or maybe you’re already doing it. Tell me all about it!
XO,
Melessa
