As I was working to finish up Sam’s room, Gabe was patiently waiting for his room makeover… Gabe is starting 6th grade in the fall so he is ready to say goodbye to his more youthful superhero room.
Here are his “before” images of his room. I have to admit it was kinda sad painting over the city mural that I painted 7 years ago… Wow! Time flies!

My boys are polar opposites. Sam, as you may have guessed from his room makeover, is very structured and introverted, and he appreciates a minimalist, contemporary, clean look.
Gabe on the other hand is my wild child. Full of passion, energy, and very extraverted, he loves bold colors and patterns, a maximalist look, and is all about making a statement. So, I can promise you guys a completely different look and feel from Sam’s room, even though they live right across the hall from each other.
Unfortunately, shipping is taking longer than expected on a few of Gabe’s items, so this week is only a sneak-peek.
Because Gabe is younger and I know he’ll grow out of this look by the time he hits high school we did most of our decor shopping at Ikea and Amazon to keep the budget around $120. I’ll go into more detail on what we did when I post his room reveal.
He’s been begging for a real white brick accent wall for the last year, so Nate and I made a compromise with removable white brick wallpaper instead.

I have to say it looks better than I thought it would. After the wallpaper was up it smelled like a new plastic shower curtain in his room for about 3 days.

We didn’t want to buy a bunch of new materials, so we patched up his walls here and there, pulled out the touch up paint for his room, and gave his walls a fresh coat of paint so it felt new again.
Long story short, he LOVES how his room is coming along and can’t wait for the rest of his items to arrive.
So, here’s a peek at his new look in progress! Like I’ve said, there’s never a dull moment around here. It’s always a party!

Stay tuned for more projects!
Have a great weekend! Stay well!
XO
