When I was pulling out all the Christmas decorations this year, the boys noticed two boxes tucked away at the bottom of one of my big deep Christmas bins. “What’s in those?” Gabe asked. He didn’t even wait for a response. He just invited himself to explore the two mystery boxes. To be honest, I had forgotten what was packed in them.

About 15 years ago, when I was working for a little giftware company called Coyne’s and Co., I worked with a licensed artist on this whimsical white vintage village. Once Gabe started pulling each piece out, I remembered all the work that went into designing these delicate cardstock cutouts.

We all instantly fell in love with them and decided that we needed to find a home for them to sparkle. FYI- I can’t get enough of shimmer and sparkle things this time of year. 😉 We walked through our main floor. Sam suggested we display them in the front room on our white piano. Gabe wanted to put them on the built-ins in the living room. Then we all stared at the fluffy cream-colored tree skirt and agreed that, that was the spot!

I absolutely love them under the tree. They shimmer and sparkle as if fresh fallen snow fell on them on a wintery December evening. I can almost hear the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from the Nutcracker Suite playing when I admire them under the tree and let me mind wander…

How could I forget about these? It’s literally been 15 years since I’ve looked at them. We never went into production with them, so these are the only samples that I am aware of.
