You guys, I’m totally pooped. Normally, I can toughen up and put in a few more hours to get a post out, but after 6 weeks of working long hours and a long day at work full of computer issues, corrupt files and a catalog due in a couple days, my mind needs a rest and a good night sleep.
But, I wanted to give you an update on my crazy house and all the projects that are happening.
My kitchen was supposed to be completed the week of Thanksgiving. That didn’t happen. I was expecting delays, as with any home improvement project, you should expect things to be pushed out. That’s typical. However, there were some big issues with my cabinets being painted, so things are being pushed out even more. My painter has had difficulty getting the black pigment right for my kitchen island. So long story short, they need to strip the doors and re-spray them. Yuck!
The counter tops, cabinet extensions, back-splash tiles (shown in the image above), faucet and hardware look fabulous. I’m very please with how they all work together. It makes my little corner kitchen feel so much bigger and brighter.
I decided (last minute) to do some fun extra crown molding work in my entrance area, that I’m exited to share with you in a near future post.
Also, I’ve decided to repaint the painting above my fireplace and tone it down to a softer landscape. My living room is going to shift a little bit. The graphics are much softer and I’m warming it up just a smidge.
My Christmas decor is just about up. I’ll be sharing those photos with you very soon.
Let’s see what else… I’m almost done with my basement layout. That project starts in February and March.
A huge relief is that I’m done with all my Christmas shopping! I mean all of it, stockings and all! That’s off my plate. So, when my Talisman deadlines come to a close, I can just sit back and chill by the fire and look at the Christmas tree. Sooooo looking forward to that!
October through December is a crazy busy time for me at work, so every year I plan early to order presents. I have my boys put together their lists in September. Then right on Cyber Monday, Nate and I hit it and it’s done! Then whenever I’m out or on a lunch break at work, I run to cute little gift shops for stocking stuffers and unique candies.
I love Patina’s (off of Hennepin and Franklin, downtown Minneapolis). They have wonderful gifts and fun candies. Holy Land (off of Central Ave in North East Minneapolis) also has fantastic European candies that’s aren’t always easy to find. You can kinda go crazy there. If you don’t want to venture off too far, hit the World Market for some Kinder chocolates, and other fun sweets from around the world. I go out of my way to find fun sweets that aren’t typically sold at Target or Walmart. It makes the stockings more fun and my boys are pretty adventurous eaters (they’ve even tried squid and snails!), so they’er up for a tasting challenge.
I wish all of you a very happy holiday season. Thank you for your patience as I rest from taking photos and staging this post. I really appreciate you guys and your encouragement as I build my decor portfolio.
XOXO

December 4, 2018 at 9:09 pmThank you, building a catalog, trade shows and three holidays back-to-back really makes things super crazy this time of year. Having my kitchen under construction doesn’t help at all, but I’m glad it’s almost done. Plus, I’m the kind of person that would rather push all the crazy together and get it over with, vs. spreading it out.
