Due to the extremely sad events that have occurred in Minneapolis this week, my post will be short out of reverence for the situation. It is not my objective to add additional noise or ignore what has happened. Just know I am a true advocate of loving one another.
A couple of projects around my house are coming to a close. Yay!! My raised garden beds are painted and almost finished. I did a couple more little projects in basement to keep things moving down there and my jumbo North Shore painting is almost finished. Yippy!!
I still need to blend and lighten a few areas, but for the most part, it’s pretty close. My son Sam thinks, “It’s a little too spotty.” He likes paintings that are more blended with less strokes. I on the other hand love seeing the strokes. It’s my version of impressionism. Everyone has a right to what they like, so I appreciate Sam’s honest feedback.
Like most impressionist paintings it looks better when you stand back. Especially when it’s 6’x4′. What you are seeing below is more close up, so the strokes will be more prominent.
When I was attending art school, after we were finished with our art projects, we display them in front of the class to be critiqued. Even now, at work all my designs and illustrations are always critiqued. Sometimes there are minor changes, other times I have to completely start over. That is just the way my industry works.
So, here it is right now in front of you to critique. What do you guys think?

I’d love to hear your feedback.
Here’s a HUGE HUG & A KISS to you all.
Stay well.
Melessa

May 29, 2020 at 7:21 pmThanks, Sarah! I really like how brush strokes in an abstract interpretation can express emotion that is difficult to convey with realism.
