Today I thought I would make a quick little video walking you through my basement plans.
My oldest Sam was nice enough to record me. He was trying really, really hard not to laugh out loud at his mom while recording. You’ve got to love kids, especially when they laugh directly at you as you’re trying to make a simple video that I’m already feeling insecure about… Love my kids! 😉
So, about that couch change. I was walking through HOM Furniture for a client and a couch on display caught my eye. I walked over to it, sat in it, and fell in love with it! I decided to cancel the West Elm couch that was ready to be delivered the next day. It happened so quickly, but so I’m glad that I happened upon the new couch! Sometimes you gotta switch gears and that’s okay.
Here’s the new couch and chair. I ordered all new custom pillows, so the pillows you see below are not what I’m getting. I wanted a couch that’s a lot more squishy and this couch is very squishy and very cozy. I’m also loving this tufted little accent chair! Adorable!

Also, I’ve been playing with another door option for my built-ins. Which design do you like better? Design 1 or 2?
The floor and area rugs for the basement is the section that I’m going to tackle next.
Next week, I’ve got a before-and-after modern home office with a custom string wall to share with you, plus another sneak peek at a home office in the works. Stay tuned! There’s so much more to share!
XOXO,
Melessa
