Almost Summer

Only a week left of uninterrupted time to get work done before my boys are out of school for the summer. Yikes! FYI, the Skyline above is by my oldest son Sam.

I have to confess, I took this weekend off and did absolutely nothing, except for laundry, making sure my kids were fed and visiting with friends on Sunday. It was so chill. I really needed it and savored every moment. For Memorial Day I slept in until 10 am (absolutely glorious) and watched 2 seasons of “Call the Midwife” on Netflix. I’m hooked! Gratefully my boys were behaving on a gray, rainy, cold day and kept themselves busy with making videos. My oldest was experimenting with time-lapse sketches. Here are the videos he just finished. I know I’m being biased, but I think he did a great job. I love watching timelapse sketches. I might have to do that.

My basement is moving along great! The drywall is finished. Now we are on to taping and mudding the walls. My doors arrived today so they are sitting in my garage. I’m working on a design for my accent wall. Hopefully that will be finished soon. Each day the boys and I go down into the basement to see how it’s moving along. It takes a lot of self control not to go down and watch the builders work. I stay out of their way for the most part. But once they leave the boys and I go down and check out the changes.

I need to start painting my bathroom vanity. I’m camping next weekend up north so I might have to squeeze that DIY in before Saturday. It’s going to be so, so cold by Lake Superior. But the campfire will be perfect and I personally prefer being cold over being hot. I’m looking forward to it.

I’ve got another modern office before and after to show you soon. My client is just finishing her DIY bookshelf that I showed her how to do. Everything else for her office redesign has been either been ordered or already arrived. Once her shelf is finished the rest is just the details and styling the room. It’s such a fun transition. I’m very excited to share it with you.

There are more interior design projects on their way and just being started. I’m loving the work and feeling so fulfilled with each project. It’s a labor of love and I’m so grateful that I’m able to do it.

Wish me luck as I try to fit in a couple projects before I camp this weekend. I’m so hooked on “Call the Midwife” that may be a slight distraction for me too. 😉
