I’ve have a bunch of projects in the works with different clients and I’m excited to see a couple of them almost done. That means I get to share them with you! Yay!
Today, I’m sharing with you another fun home office project I’ve been working on and I have to say this project is quite the transformation.
My client’s home office was split into three functions: a work area, guest room and play area. I’m not going to lie; it was crowded! So crowded that she found herself working more at the kitchen table, instead. She really needed a lot more space to work more effectively, so we decided to make it an official home office and nothing but that.
The space also needed a lot more light. The room is in the basement, so it was important to brighten up the walls, make the ceiling feel taller and place properly sized furniture in the space to make it feel as grand as possible.
The trim wasn’t going to be painted so choosing the right tones was especially important so the wood didn’t look so dated with a strong orange hue. Instead, I want to make the trim look attractive by surrounding it with hues that helped cool it down.
BEFORE

The images below are screenshots pulled from a before video, that I’ll show in part 2.

My client loves all things modern with a just a touch of traditional. She lives in a more traditional style home, so to keep things balanced and looking like they belong in her home I made sure the to include the appropriate elements are there so nothing feels too out of place.
Here’s a sneak peek at her story board.

I can’t wait to show you part 2! Stay tuned! There are so many more projects coming your way.
XO,
Melessa
