Take a few minutes to make a crown and travel with me on a pretend journey to Charleston, South Carolina. Pretty please… 😉 It’s my birthday!
My birthday was actually yesterday, but it’s truly a week-long celebration!
I was actually supposed to be in Charleston, SC with my hubby this week celebrating my 40th, but life happens so I decided to be a princess for the day and go on a pretend adventure instead.
I’m surrounded by boys (hence all the blue decor in my home). So, for my birthday it’s full on estrogen! I have a stash of ultra girly princess supplies tucked away for occasions just like this. I didn’t need to buy anything.
So, pull out all your fun papers, glitters, ribbons, beads, glue, scissors, etc., and I’ll show you how to make your very own custom DIY Birthday Crown. Yes! That means you! You deserve it! 🙂
If you have a birthday around the corner this is the perfect activity!

I have a raspberry cardigan I love to wear, so I wanted to design a crown that would coordinate with that.

To start, pick your favorite color.
Download and print out the crown. Please note: The crown is longer than an 8.5″x11″ paper so you’ll need to print the two links and tile (glue) them together.

I’m using the solid pink for the inside and the paisley patterned paper for the outside of the crown. To seal them together, I just used a glue stick.
To cut it out I used smaller kids scissors to get around those little sections.

Feel free to add extra layers of decoration with hot glue. The more the merrier! For extra fun you can cut out your age and glue some sparkle on it!

There’s a tab on the right end. Hot glue that section on the inside of the other end to create the crown. To fasten it on, glue two long ribbons on each side and tie it in a bow under your chin!

It was so much fun being a princess for a day! I wore all my grandmother’s costume jewelry that she passed down to me and lived it up, like a ROYAL! And yes, I was dressed like this ALL DAY!

Now it’s time to go on a pretend adventure to beautiful Charleston, SC!!
FYI- I may have had a little too much fun photoshopping my head on these lovely shots created by other bloggers. 😉
Look how beautiful their Spring is in Charleston!! Just lovely!! I’m typing this next to my fireplace pretending it’s the warm southern afternoon sun beating on me instead.
Nate thought it would fun to rent bikes to see a few of the sites. How cute is he?!?
Enjoying a warm relaxing stroll with the fresh cut roses that my hubby surprised me with!
We stopped for some homemade ice cream. YUM!
Took a relaxing walk hand-in-hand with Nate through a lush park. He snapped a picture of me stopping to smell the roses.
Went shopping, of course! And bought a really cute dress! You’ll love it!
Me in my new pink dress! How FAB is that!
Rode in a horse-drawn carriage through the old part of town in another cute pink dress.
Got all dressed up for my birthday dinner with Nate.
We had such a magical pretend adventure together! 😉
I enjoyed every single daydreaming minute of it!!
Thank you so much for all the warm happy birthday wishes this week. You filled my heart with love. I am so grateful for you guys and the support you show me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Here in Minnesota it’s finally supposed to be much warmer! Maybe spring is finally here!
Stay well friends,
XO

P.S. Which hair color do you like better on me, the red or the blond? I can’t make up my mind which direction to go, I think I’ve been every color you can think of! HA!
