Now days we need to be even more conscious of our spending and what goes into our homes. For the majority of us we can’t afford to outfit our homes with expensive one-of-a-kind pieces. Since a lot of the world is pretty much spending most of their time in their homes, it’s very important to make your home feel comfortable and beautiful the way you like it. You can do this and it doesn’t all need to be pricey high end decor or furniture. When I shop for myself I like to have a mix of high and low design flow through my house. There’s no shame in loving items from stores like Target, Walmart or even a thrift store (which honestly is my personal fave). That being said, I want to share with you my favorites from the Studio McGee collection at Target. She’s launching her second wave of designs that launches on the 9/13 so get ready, because this stuff sells out FAST!! Keep scrolling to see what I’m loving, and more importantly- why!

When shopping for furniture and home decor at Target, material and texture are top on my mind. You know me and how I feel about layering and mixing texture. This collection focuses on all of those rich natural materials: jute, wool, metal, wood, cotton, and cane. Side note: I LOVE CANE. My husband HATES cane. He says it looks too “fragile and old looking.” I love the weave golden look mixed with wood. When mixing different finishes all together it makes them look higher end.

I am all about this classic round mirror. I just might try it out in my basement bathroom… just might. I wanted to use my great grandmother’s mirror, but I would have to get it fixed and the cost to fix it isn’t worth it. Total bummer. 🙁 So this might be the replacement if it looks right. This mirror looks much more expensive than it actually is. I really like the metal hanging detail on top and the size is right …especially for $70. It has a clean designer look.

These faux throws have a thick, soft cozy feel that make you feel ready to dive into the fall season.

Notice the mix of wood finishes. I LOVE that! You’re not committing to one finish or look, which has and longer lasting design feel. And if you haven’t noticed brown and warm tones are back.

The dining chairs in this collection are also clean and simple. They can pair up with so many different looks and functions; dining or kitchen table, desk or as an accent chair.

The lighting is also lovely with beautiful options in classic finishes!

The McGee team did a fabulous job creating this collection, at a good price point (that’s the really hard part). I already grabbed a couple items from her last launch so I’m excited to snag a few new things for this fall that (crossing fingers) will help me finish up my basement!
Do you have favorites? Did you shop the Studio McGee x Target collection last season?
Happy weekend! Stay well!
